⚫️Japanese onomatopoeia Vol. 19 “WAKUWAKU” by Kay Koyama (JPN)
When I tought Japanese, as a volunteer, to a Taiwanese student who had been studying technology in a Japanese graduate school, he used to say “WAKUWAKU (something), DOKIDOKI (something)” a lot.
I thought that he might memorize the Japanese onomatopoeia when he learnt it first on a textbook (lol).
Althought native Japanese less use the combination, both “WAKUWAKU” and “DOKIDOKI” are very familiar ewpressions to us.
Today I am going to explain “WAKUWAKU” to you, alright?o(^-^)o

“WAKUWAKU” means uplifted mind or “happy emotion,” especially waiting or expecting something you would likd to experience of the special moment such as opening Christmas presents, next vacation, or going to see the live performance of your favorit artist.
⚫️For example
★WAKUWAKU suru. → I feel WAKUWAKU happy emotion!
★KONDO NO LAUBU, TANOSHIMI.WAKUWAKU. → I’m quite looking forward to going to the live of Don John, WAKUWAKU.
★TANJO-BI PREZENTO ARIGATO! WAKUWAKU.→ Thank you for this birthday present. I’m gonna open it. WAKUWAKU.
